QPR wrap up their pre-season campaign this weekend, as Mark Warburton’s side welcome Premier League opponents Leicester City to Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium (3pm kick-off BST).

Impressive victories over Manchester United and Cambridge United has seen confidence flowing through the Rangers ranks, but the R's will still be aware that pre-season is about preparing for what will be a strenuous Sky Bet Championship campaign and the Foxes, who will be playing European football this season, will certainly provide us with another stern test.

Strikes from Ilias Chair and Lyndon Dykes wrapped up Rangers’ second victory in a matter of days at Cambridge in midweek, ensuring that confidence remains relatively high as we head towards the 2021/22 campaign.

The visitors – managed by Brendan Rodgers – will be looking to bounce back from Wednesday’s defeat to League One side Wycombe Wanderers in what was their second pre-season game, as preparations for their Premier League campaign start to intensify.

Of course, victory in last season’s FA Cup final ensured that the Foxes will be lining up in this year’s FA Community Shield at Wembley next weekend, which also means that this will be their last fixture before the curtain-raiser in north London.

Saturday's contest will be the first meeting between the two teams in west London since 2014, when Charlie Austin slotted home to take all three points for the R's.

Leicester have since gone from strength to strength and, as a result, will probably have some noticeable absentees this weekend as their successful Euro 2020 stars have only just started to return.
