AFTER Saturday’s defeat to local rivals Fulham, Queens Park Rangers are swiftly back in action, with Bramall Lane the destination this evening (Tuesday) for this Sky Bet Championship clash with Sheffield United (7.45pm KO).
The R’s travel to the Steel City for this rearranged clash, which was due to take place back in December, as we look for a return to winning ways as we head into the final few games of the 2021/22 campaign.
Defeat at the weekend sees Mark Warburton’s side sitting in ninth position as we prepare for the trip to South Yorkshire. Fellow play-off hopefuls Sheffield United head into this one a place and two points above the Super Hoops – with victory a chance to leapfrog Paul Heckingbottom’s Blades.
But victories at Bramall Lane have been hard to come by for Rangers in recent years, having only clinched all three points once from our last three clashes at the home of United.

Pre-match Talk
Mark Warburton (QPR manager): “Under the lights at a packed out Bramall Lane is always a great place to play football - we go there with a lot at stake, and we have to make sure we produce a positive performance.
“We were frustrated in the way Saturday ended, but we have looked back on the game, looked at what went wrong, and we have a big game now which is a chance for us to go and impress.”
Paul Heckingbottom (Sheff Utd manager): “We know it’s going to be tough, but one we are looking forward to. They have good players, they play good football, it’s two teams up near the top who are both fighting for points, so it should be a good game.”
Memorable Match
Sheffield United 0, QPR 3: August 14th 2010
Neil Warnock’s QPR side wrapped up a stunning victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane back in August 2010.
After storming into a 3-0 lead within the opening 23 minutes - courtesy of strikes from Hogan Ephraim, Jamie Mackie and Adel Taarabt - the R’s saw out a comfortable victory in the Steel City and sent a big message to the whole of the Championship.

Rangers would of course go on to win the league title that season and clinch their return to the Premier League following a 15-year absence, while United would suffer relegation to League One.
QPR Starting XI: Kenny, Orr, Hall, Gorkss, Hill, Derry, Faurlin, Ephraim, Mackie, Taarabt, Helguson.

Darren Bond will take charge of tonight’s clash with Sheffield United.
This will be Bond’s first Rangers clash of the campaign, with his last coming in our home victory over AFC Bournemouth back in February. He will be supported by assistant referees Natalie Aspinall and Shaun Hudson and fourth official Stephen Martin.
