Rangers run riot in pre-season win

QPR LADIES stepped up pre-season with an impressive 8-2 win at Haringey Borough on Sunday.

Despite trailing 1-0 at half-time, Rangers responded in emphatic fashion with eight second-half goals to cruise to a convincing victory in their second fixture of the summer.

Martino Chevannes’ squad consisted mainly of youngsters and trialists, and the R’s boss was understandably pleased with their performance.

“We performed really well,” Chevannes told “Our passing and movement was brilliant; we retained the ball really well.

“Haringey are a strong, physical side but we dealt with them well. We built on the second half of last week’s performance [against Stevenage] and played really well.

“We looked a lot more confident and cohesive. Our fitness levels looked really good too, and it’s another 90 minutes under our belts which is what’s most important at this stage.”

Next up for QPR Ladies is a home friendly with Luton Town on Sunday 6th August.
