Furlong’s youngster dealt defeat by Eagles
QPR UNDER-18S went down 3-0 to Crystal Palace at Harlington on Saturday.
Paul Furlong’s side fell behind on 19 minutes when Palace – who had put seven past Barnsley in their previous league outing – opened their account with a close-range diving header.
Rangers came close to levelling before half-time. A corner caused havoc in the six-yard box, but was eventually scrambled clear on the goal-line by the Palace backline.
Instead, it was Palace who provided the second goal of the game seven minutes after the interval. Following a trip in the box, the visitors made no mistake from the penalty spot.
And the Eagles sealed victory on the hour-mark. A long ball split the R’s defence, allowing the Palace striker to race clear and beat Marcin Brzozowski with a clinical volley.
Rangers go on the road this weekend, when they travel to Coventry City on Saturday.
QPR: Brzozowski, Disubi, N-Mcloed (Dauti 63), Klass, Eales, Folkes, Francis, Mesias, Ehsun (Platt 57), B-McNulty, G-Braithwaite (Miller 63).
