A LAST-GASP equaliser denied 10-man QPR Under-18s victory in a six-goal thriller with Birmingham City on Saturday.
Paul Furlong’s side came from behind before leading twice at Heston, only to suffer late heartache deep into second-half stoppage time.
Rangers trailed after conceding inside the opening nine minutes, but replies from Mickel Platt and Dejahrn Grant gave them the half-time advantage.
Birmingham levelled matters midway through the second period, and Rangers’ cause wasn’t helped when goalkeeper Tyla Dickinson was dismissed for serious foul play in the 70th minute.
Despite being a man light, it looked like it would be the R’s who would come away victors when Faysal Bettache put Rangers back in front 14 minutes from time.
The ten men couldn’t quite hold on, though. Birmingham completed the scoring with an equaliser in the second minute of injury time to snatch a share of the spoils.
Furlong’s young R’s are in action again on Tuesday when they host Cardiff City at Heston.
