PAUL Furlong’s QPR Under-18s kicked-off 2018 with a win on Friday.

The young R’s – in action for the first time since their FA Youth Cup clash with Charlton Athletic in mid-December – saw off Colchester United thanks to two first-half goals at Heston.

Shiloh Remy opened the scoring with 10 minutes played, before Mickel Platt doubled the R’s lead just past the half-hour mark.

At the other end, Tyla Dickinson preserved his clean sheet and, with it, all three points.

Rangers are on home soil again this weekend when they host Bristol City at Heston.

QPR U18s: Dickinson, Williams-Lowe, Woollard-Innocent, Mesias, Drewe, Gubbins, Brooks, Remy, Platt (Kendall 63), Bansal-McNulty (Carlyle 63), Francis-Adeyinka (Morris 75).
