QPR U18s’ late fight-back was not enough to earn them a share of the points at Charlton Athletic in Professional Development League 2 South on Saturday morning.
Rangers fell behind at the Addicks’ Sparrows Lane training ground when Euan Williams broke the deadlock on 28 minutes.
Dylan Gavin made it two for Charlton on 33 minutes and on 78 minutes it was 3-0 when Luca Albon found the back of the net.
Paul Furlong’s R’s didn’t let their heads drop, though, and they pulled a goal back when Hamzad Kargbo scored. The Rangers striker netted his second two minutes into stoppage time but there was not enough time remaining for QPR to find an equaliser.
Rangers’ U18s will be back in action on Friday when they take on Crystal Palace at the Eagles’ training ground.
QPR U18s: Little, McLean, Mahorn, Harrack (Fahmy 46), Paiva, Orafu, Gordon (Kalathias 60), Griffiths (Eze 60), Aoraha, Mema, Kargbo.
