QPR U18s won a seven-goal thriller against Coventry City in Professional Development League 2 South on Saturday morning.

Heading into the final 10 minutes, the game was tied at 1-1 but five late goals saw the R’s come away with all three points.

Rangers broke the deadlock at Imperial Heston after just nine minutes when Olawabunmi Babajide found the net. The Sky Blues levelled 10 minutes later and that is how the scoring remained until the 80th minute.

Hamzad Kargbo put QPR 2-1 up and the result was seemingly made safe two minutes later when Armelindo Mema rippled Coventry’s net.

The Sky Blues pulled one back on 89 minutes but Mema’s second goal of the game restored Rangers’ two-goal cushion just 60 second later. There was still some drama to come, though, as Coventry made it 4-3 in the 94th minute, but in the end it was too late as the R’s held on to win.

QPR U18s: Middlehurst (Little 65), Jude-Boyd, Mahorn, Fahmy, Pitblado (McLean 46), Paiva, Aoraha, Da Silva (Griffiths 46), Babajide, Mema, Kargbo.
