QPR U18s were undone by a solitary goal against Professional Development League 2 South leaders Watford on Saturday morning.

In game a few chances, the match deciding moment came from the penalty spot on 72 minutes at Imperial Heston.

Rangers were dealt an early blow when James Fahmy had to make way with a hamstring injury after just 11 minutes but Paul Furlong’s men – up against the in-form Hornets – soon settled and applied themselves well throughout the 90 minutes.

The two teams went in goalless at half-time and Watford broke the deadlock with 18 minutes remaining. Dom Hutchinson converted a penalty from 12 yards.

The young R’s were unable to force an equaliser and they will hope to bounce back when they travel to Bristol City on Saturday 5th October.
