Under-23s come from behind against Sky Blues
EBERE Eze was at the double, as QPR Under-23s came from two goals behind to defeat Coventry City 3-2 at Loftus Road this afternoon (Friday).
Paul Hall’s young R’s were left with a mountain to climb in this Professional Development League fixture midway through the first half, following early Sky Blues strikes by Jordan Ponticelli (13 minutes) and Kyle Spence (22).
But Rangers refused to lie down and when Eze slotted home from close range in the 24th minute, a grandstand second half awaited.
In truth, Hall’s Hoops were dominant after the break and, despite losing forward Dan Darbyshire to a shoulder injury on the stroke of half-time, added two further goals to complete the comeback.
First, Axel Prohouly levelled matters in the 66th minute, slotting in through the goalkeeper’s legs from eight yards.
And the winning goal arrived five minutes from time.
Eze was on target again with the ultimately-decisive fifth goal of the game, producing a simply stunning effort from the edge of the box to win it for Rangers.
