Cardiff City U23s v QPR U23s - Professional Development League Two South - Monday, 5th February 2018 - Cardiff Athletics Stadium
TWO goals from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas couldn’t prevent QPR’s Under-23s losing at Cardiff City on Monday.
It was the hosts who started brightest in the Welsh capital, racing into a three-goal lead by half-time.
Mark Harris broke the deadlock on 17 minutes before namesake Kadeem doubled City’s lead just after the half-hour mark. Two became three when the former added his second of the afternoon from the penalty spot after Rangers were penalised for a foul in the box.
Paul Hall’s side responded well in the second half, though, and pulled a goal back through Emmanuel-Thomas within six minutes of the re-start.
Emmanuel-Thomas was given the chance to score his second when substitute Ody Alfa was upended, but his penalty proved no more than a consolation as Cardiff held on for all three points.
Hall and co go on the road again on Friday when they travel to Birmingham City.
