QPR UNDER-23S’ final game of the season ended in defeat to Coventry City.
Paul Hall’s side lost 2-0 at the Ricoh Area as the curtain came down on the R’s campaign in the Professional Development League on Thursday.
Hall named an inexperienced side for the trip, with Under-18s quartet Aiden Mesias, Faysal Bettache, Mickel Platt and Joe Gubbins amongst the squad.
Rangers fell behind inside ten minutes. Marcin Brzozowski kept out a long-range effort from Josh Eccles, but a City trialist converted the rebound.
The young R’s had Brzozowski to thank before half-time. Chris Camwell’s 25-yard free-kick was goal-bound before the R’s goalkeeper tipped it onto the post.
City scored a second soon after the re-start, though. Devon Kelly-Evans’ cross from the right found substitute Bilal Sayoud, who beat Brzozowski to double the hosts’ lead.
Rangers responded and twice went close to halving the deficit. Charlie Owens fired just over inside the box while Romeo Akinola was denied by City goalkeeper Corey Addai.
