AIDEN Mesias’ stunning strike wasn’t enough to prevent QPR Under-23s suffering defeat at Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday night.

Paul Hall’s side travelled to Lancashire in search of a second successive win but fell behind two minutes before half-time when Eddie Brown’s deflected effort looped over R’s goalkeeper Myles Bowman.

Rangers weren’t behind for long, though – levelling four minutes into the second period. Mesias struck from 20 yards to restore parity in some style.

Bolton had the final say, however, with an eye-catching goal of their own. Joe Muscatt found the top corner on the hour-mark with what ultimately proved the winner.

Next up for Hall and co is a visit from Birmingham City to Loftus Road on Friday 22nd March.

QPR U23: Bowman, Felix, Domi, Bettache, Carlyle (Kefalas 74), Gubbins, Tilt (Brooks 74), Douglas (B Wells 61), Walker, Mesias, Bansal-McNulty.

Sub (not used): White.
