QPR UNDER-23S tasted defeat at Bristol City on Friday.

Paul Hall’s side – who had won 5-0 against Crystal Palace only four days earlier – were on course for a point, but a late collapse saw them succumb in the West Country.

The game was goalless until just after the hour-mark, when Brad Webb produced an astonishing finish from distance to break the deadlock.

It remained 1-0 until eight minutes from time, but Rangers’ hopes of a comeback were dashed by three late goals.

First, Ricardo Rees doubled City’s lead after Marcin Brzozowski saved Marcus Day’s initial penalty.

The R’s misery was compounded by another goal from Rees before City completed the scoring in stoppage time through Jayden Ali.

Rangers return to action at Harlington against Cardiff City on Monday 1st October.

QPR U23: Brzozowski, Felix, Genovesi, Owens, Wells (Kefalas 70), Bassong, Tilt, Njike (Bettache 66), Oteh, Mesias (Platt 70), Dalling.

Sub (not used): Dickinson.

Booked: Njike, Bassong.
