GOALS from Aramide Oteh and Ody Alfa saw QPR’s Under-23 side extend their unbeaten run to nine matches on Tuesday afternoon.
Oteh fired Paul Hall’s youngsters ahead after 23 minutes before a penalty four minutes from time capped off the win against Millwall.
Inside the opening 20 minutes, QPR went closest to finding the opener when Ody Alfa’s low driven shot went wide of the post before the R’s took the lead.
Forward Aramide Oteh, fresh from his first team cameo in Rangers 2-1 win against Middlesbrough at the weekend, received the ball in the area before rolling a close-range finish off the post with 23 minutes on the clock.
QPR looked to double their lead soon after when ten minutes before half-time Lewis Walker’s inviting cross couldn’t be turned in. Full-back Osman Kakay then forced a smart save from Lions keeper Dave Martin as Oteh’s goal separated the two teams at the break.
The U23s scorer was denied a second by Martin after the restart as QPR pushed to extend their lead.
Walker then fired across goal on 63 minutes from the right, before R’s stopper Marci Brzozowski made a smart save to deny Tom Elliot.
15 minutes from time Alfa cut in and his low footed effort was saved before three minutes later the hosts failed to covert a big chance to level. Harry Donovan’s cross comes shot ricochets out to Ron Harvey but he failed to keep his effort down.
It proved a big miss as Paul Hall’s side eventually made their superior possession count when four minutes from time they were awarded a penalty after Danny McNamra brought down Alfa in the area.
The R’s forward picked himself up to fire home from 12-yards to extend Rangers unbeaten run to nine matches.
