QPR Under-23s suffered a 4-1 pre-season friendly defeat at Welling United on Saturday.

Paul Hall’s side, containing five trialists, went down against the National League outfit.

Danny Mills put the hosts 1-0 up after 22 minutes before QPR levelled through midfielder Charlie Owens.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international got a fortuitous touch on a wayward shot to wrong foot Welling keeper Dan Wilks.

Jack Jebb then put the hosts back in front with a web struck free-kick six minutes after half-time before Gavin McCallum made it 3-1 to Welling as he guided his header past R’s keeper Harvey White in the 66th minute.

Welling completed their scoring three minutes later to make it 4-1.
