GOALS from Faysal Bettache, Lewis Walker and Mide Shodipo earned QPR U23s victory against Millwall on Tuesday afternoon.

In what was a dominant performance, Paul Hall’s R’s led 2-0 at half-time, with Shodipo adding gloss to the scoreline as the clock struck 90.

The result continues Rangers’ good form in Professional Development League 2 South and they will hope to build on the win next Monday when they play Colchester United.

QPR broke the deadlock after just seven minutes when Bettache arrowed a low strike into the net from 18 yards.

R’s goalkeeper Marcin Brzozowski made a smart stop from Tyler Burey on 22 minutes and his opposite number Luke Steele was then called into action twice in quick succession by Walker.

First, Steele pushed a 30-yard strike from the forward to safety and moments later he kept out a Walker header from point-blank range.

Walker got the better of him on the stroke of half-time, though. Mide Shodipo was fouled inside the box and Walker made no mistake with the resulting penalty, firing it down the middle.

Walker almost had a second on 52 minutes but he could only turn Amrit Bansal-McNulty’s low ball over the bar and Bettache then whistled a strike just wide of the post, having broken forward from midfield.

At the other end, Brzozowski got his body behind a powerful George Alexander header but Rangers then made the result safe on 91 minutes when Shodipo volleyed home from six yards out.

QPR U23s: Brzozowski, Williams-Lowe, Materson (c), Gubbins, Domi, Wells, Bettache (Duncan 75), Dalling, Shodipo, Bansal-McNulty, Walker.

Subs (not used): Dickinson, Rowan, Duke-McKenna.
