QPR WOMEN suffered a damaging defeat to Gillingham Ladies in The FA Women’s National League at Honeycroft on Wednesday night.

Rangers fell behind to Alice Bussey’s opener and despite creating numerous chances, were left frustrated in their attempts to find an equaliser before half-time.

Instead, it was Gillingham who took control with two quick-fire strikes after the re-start. Bussey’s second of the evening and a long-range effort from Maddison Farrand all but sealed victory.

Victoria Grieve pulled one back for Rangers late on, but it was scant consolation.

Martino Chevannes’ side are back at Uxbridge on Sunday in the FA WNL for the visit of Loughborough Foxes.

QPR Women: Kasirye, Chimbima, Jordinson, Kumaning, Kinnane, Grieve, Petit, Puddefoot, Wilson, Ward-Chambers, Nebbitt (Shakes 73).

Goal: Grieve 86.
