JAMIE Mackie’s season has come to a premature end after it was confirmed the midfielder requires surgery on a torn hamstring.
The 30-year-old suffered the injury during QPR’s fixture at Leeds earlier this month.
Mackie was forced off the pitch after just 24 minutes at Elland Road, and R’s boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink told www.qpr.co.uk: “Jamie is out for the season now unfortunately.
“He needs an operation, which he will have today.”
It has been a hugely frustrating campaign for fans’ favourite Mackie, who returned to the club last summer but has seen his season beset by injuries
He suffered a similar hamstring problem at Fulham in September, which kept him sidelined for more than three months.
