  • Chris Ramsey says Rio Ferdinand could make his comeback at Anfield
CHRIS Ramsey has been boosted by the news Leroy Fer is in contention for a starting place at Liverpool on Saturday.

The midfielder made his long-awaited return from injury last weekend – coming off the bench in the goalless draw with West Ham United – and is likely to support Charlie Austin in attack.

Ramsey, though, is sweating on the fitness of Bobby Zamora for the trip to Anfield with the R’s striker struggling to shake off injury.

PRE-LIVERPOOL: QPR prepare for Saturday's match at Anfield

“Bobby’s struggling which is a big blow for us, but we’re hoping we can get some last-minute decisions on that,” Ramsey told www.qpr.co.uk. “At the moment it’s probably 60/40 against.

“He’s had a lot of injuries over the course of his career and sometimes you get to an age when they start to catch up with you. But you wouldn’t know that based on the fact he’s showed a lot of grit and determination, and the way he’s tried to work hard to keep him up.

“The good news is Leroy’s fit and in contention for a start.”
