Loan Rangers: Doughty nets for Swindon

MICHAEL Doughty scored a dramatic 94th minute equaliser to grab Swindon Town a 2-2 draw against Millwall at the weekend.

QPR midfielder Doughty pounced inside the box to head home the leveller after the visitors failed to clear a free-kick.

Speaking after his fourth goal of his loan spell at the County Ground, Doughty said: "To get a goal that late made it feel almost like a win for us. It's testament to our character and how far we've come as a group. There are some negatives we need to work on, but we need to keep that feel-good factor going at the club.

"They counter-attacked really well, which made it an end-to-end game. I think our character and fitness levels pushed us over the line and that's something that will be key for us over the next few games."

Meanwhile, in the Sky Bet Championship Yun Suk-Young helped Charlton Athletic to a surprise 2-0 win against promotion chasing Middlesbrough on Sunday.

Playing once again on the left-wing, Yun completed the full 90 minutes as second bottom Addicks sealed a shock result.

However, his teammate Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was an unused substitute for Milton Keynes Dons in their 1-1 draw at Hull City’s KC Stadium 24 hours prior.

Dutchman Leroy Fer was on the losing side on Saturday as Swansea City lost 3-2 at Bournemouth.

Fer was substituted six minutes from time as the Welsh side missed out on the opportunity to move further away from the relegation zone.

Steven Caulker and Sandro both had free weekends with neither Liverpool or West Bromwich Albion in action.

Defender Darnell Furlong helped his current loan side Cambridge United to a point against his former team Northampton Town in League Two.

Table toppers Northampton Town looked to be heading for all three points until James Spencer’s 90th minute equalise at Sixfield earned the U’s a share of the spoils.

Furlong has now made 11 appearances for Cambridge.

Jake Mulraney was not in Stevenage’s matchday squad for their 1-0 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers. The Irish winger is yet to make his debut for Boro.

Crawley Town sealed a 1-0 win against Luton Town at the weekend with midfielder Frankie Sutherland playing 90 minutes. The Red Devils are now 16th in the League Two standings.

In Scotland Osman Kakay was an unused substitute for Livingston in their 2-0 Scottish Championship triumph against Dumbarton.

Elsewhere, Brandon Adams was on target for the second match in a row for non-league Hendon as they drew 2-2 against Canvey Island.

Under-18s forward Adams struck from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute to seal the draw for the Isthmian League Premier Division side.

Adams’ QPR teammate Ben Pattie came on for the final 23 minutes.

Finally, Aaron Mitchell and James Haran both started for Havant and Waterlooville in their 1-1 draw against Basingstoke.
