Luongo's socceroos beaten by England

MASSIMO Luongo was on the losing side for once with Australia as the Socceroos went down 2-1 to England at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Friday evening.

The QPR midfielder started for the Aussie’s who fell behind after just three minutes when 18-year-old Marcus Rashford scored on his debut for England.

Wayne Rooney then made it 2-0 after the break before the R’s midfielder made way.

Luongo, who will miss Australia’s friendlies back in Oz because of the impending birth of his first child, played 58 minutes for Australia prior to being substituted.

Australia did pull a goal back courtesy of an own goal from Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier but England held on for victory.
