Phillips starts for Scotland against Italy

QPR winger Matt Phillips played 71 minutes for Scotland in their 1-0 defeat against Italy on Sunday evening.

The R’s wideman started for Gordon Strachan’s side in their friendly against the Italian’s.

Phillips, collecting his fourth cap for the Scots, was replaced just over 20 minutes from time by Steven Naismith.

Southampton’s Graziano Pellè scored the only goal of the game for Italy in the 57th minute, firing in from 18-yards.

Scotland and Phillips head to France this week for another international friendly.
