GOALKEEPER Rob Green has signed a new two year deal at Loftus Road.
Green, who has made 67 appearances in all competitions for the R’s, has put pen to paper on a new contract until the summer of 2016.
Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the 34 year-old – who was voted man of the match in our Championship play-off final victory against Derby County in late May – expressed his delight at penning a new deal, commenting: “I'm really pleased to have signed the contract.
“The first thing on my mind, after relaxing and enjoying winning promotion, was to get my future sorted, so I'm delighted we've managed to get everything done ahead of pre-season.”
He added: “I had a nice break after the long season.
“I feel refreshed and recharged and I'm looking forward to the season ahead.”
Green has endured a mixed time since joining the club in the summer of 2012 as a free agent, but having made the number one jersey his own last season, he is relishing a return to the top-flight of English football with the R’s.
“At the start of last season all I was focused on was playing football - thankfully that happened and we got promoted at the end of it all.
“This season is very much the same. I want to play week in, week out.
“We want to aim high, but we won't get carried away. We learnt a lot of lessons last time, so we will keep our targets in-house and be fully focused on the season ahead.
“We can’t underestimate the difficulties of the Premier League.”
Green joins Clint Hill, Armand Traore and Alejandro Faurlin in committing his future to QPR following our promotion to the Premier League.
