STRIKER Tom Hitchcock has today (Thursday) joined Crewe Alexandra on loan.
The 21-year-old arrives at the League One side – currently 23rd in the table – ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Crawley Town.
Hitchcock flourished in League Two during a similar temporary stint at Bristol Rovers last season, where Hitchcock scored three times in just seven starts for The Gas.
The youngster returned to make his R's first-team debut in August as a late substitute against Ipswich Town, netting a 90th-minute winner at Loftus Road in a 1-0 victory.
The frontman leads the scoring charts in Marc Bircham’s Elite Development Squad with nine including a hat-trick in the Premier League Cup win over AFC Wimbledon earlier this month.
Hitchcock, son of R’s goalkeeping coach Kevin, penned a new deal in June to extend his stay at the club until the summer of 2014.
The striker will remain at Gresty Road until 7th January.
