THERE were dramatic 1-0 wins for both Seny Dieng and Ilias Chair in their Africa Cup of Nations openers on Monday.
Dieng kept a clean sheet as Senegal snatched a last-gasp victory over Zimbabwe.
The R's number one – who was relatively untroubled between the sticks in their Group B opener – celebrated as Sadio Mane’s 97th-minute penalty clinched maximum points with the final kick of the match.
Meanwhile, Chair – who was an unused substitute in his Group C clash with Ghana – watched from the sidelines as Morocco also left it late.
The Atlas Lions were heading for a goalless draw before Sofiane Boufal struck seven minutes from time.
Dieng and Chair will return to action on Friday, while Osman Kakay gets his AFCON tournament underway with Sierra Leone against reigning champions Algeria on Tuesday.
