Club saddened by Les Boyle passing

EVERYONE at QPR has been saddened to learn of the recent passing of former staff member Les Boyle.

After joining the club is the 1970s in a part-time capacity, helping with the running of our youth teams, Les progressed into the role of reserve-team physio.

He was later appointed first-team kit manager during Ray Wilkins’ time in charge, ahead of retiring at the end of the 1995/96 season.

Les – who despite retirement returned to the club for a period to work as a security man at our training ground – continued to go to every Rangers home game until he was unable to, following the onset of vascular dementia.

He eventually went into a care home and sadly passed away aged 86 on Tuesday 3rd July 2018 in Hythe, Southampton.

Les leaves behind daughters Tina and Lisa, son David, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

His funeral is being held on Monday 23rd July, 12.15pm at Test Valley Crematorium, Ridge Lane, Romsey, SO51 6AA.

Those attending Les’ funeral are also invited to join the family afterwards at The Vine, Romsey Road, Ower, Romsey, Hampshire, SO51 6ZJ.

Dress code is smart, or clothes linked to QPR.

Instead of flowers, a collection is being made for Alzheimer’s Research UK (www.alzheimersresearchuk.org).

Rest in peace, Les.
