QPR are hopeful Jordan Cousins will be available to return to training before the end of the season despite the midfielder being stretchered off during our 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Friday afternoon.
Cousins, 25, was forced off early in the second half following an accidental collision with team-mate Bright Osayi-Samuel.
It was feared the former Charlton man’s season was over but Dr Imtiaz Ahmad, QPR’s Head of Medical Services, has suggested that may not be the case.
“On first glance, it appeared to be a significant injury” Ahmad told www.qpr.co.uk.
“Jordan was in a lot of pain but thankfully that subsided.
“His knee and ankle were both cause for concern initially. His knee is ok and while he has sustained ankle ligament damage, I am pleased to say it is not as serious as first feared.
“Jordan is already off the crutches and out of the protective boot.
“We are hopeful he will be available to return to training before the end of the season.”
