NASSER El Khayati is hoping to put the disappointment of Saturday’s league defeat against Preston North End behind him on Tuesday night.
QPR host Rochdale in the second round of the EFL Cup at Loftus Road tomorrow evening.
And winger El Khayati hopes he gets a chance to impress manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
“Preston was a really disappointing day for us, it wasn't good,” he told www.qpr.co.uk. “Tomorrow we have another game though so we can put that away and focus on doing better against Rochdale.
“We had a great start to the season but we have had a few bad results now. If we can win tomorrow then we can forget the Preston game and move forward from there.
“I need to respect the decisions of the gaffer and wait for my chance. If it is in the cup games then I have to show myself and if I play tomorrow then I can try to impress him.”
QPR will be bidding to reach the third round of the competition for the first time in four years.
League One side Rochdale head to W12 following a disappointing start to their league season that has seen them take just one point from 12 in their opening fixtures.
And wideman Nasser hopes to aid the R’s quest to put his sides name in the hat for Wednesday’s draw.
“It is always nice to go as far as possible in the cup,” he said. “If we can get through you never know who you might get in the draw.
“I know QPR haven't done too well in the cup competitions in recent times so hopefully we can get a good result tomorrow and get through to the third round.”
