Football Index confirmed as new shirt sponsors

QUEENS Park Rangers Football Club is pleased to announce a new shirt sponsorship deal with Football Index.

The one-year deal, with an option for a further year, will see the Football Index brand displayed on the front property of QPR’s home and away strips, commencing from the 2020/21 season.

Since the platform was launched in 2015, Football Index has been at the forefront of changing the way football fans bet on the beautiful game.

Football Index allows traders to place bets to buy and sell shares in professional footballers with real money, gambling on the future success of the world’s top players and giving fans the opportunity to make a profit on their football knowledge

The first of its kind, Football Index is revolutionary in offering customers a chance to build a portfolio of players, betting on their future success, rather than gambling on the short-lived outcome of football matches.

Euan Inglis, QPR’s Commercial Director, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Football Index as our new front of shirt partner. Football Index’s betting platform is a fantastic product that allows avid football supporters to trade on a commodity that they understand – football.

“The team at Football Index have a very innovative approach in how they would like to engage with our fanbase through various content driven ideas and integration to our current and future digital assets.”

Football Index’s first aim - to become a challenger to traditional bookies - was part of a response to customers regularly losing money through betting. Buying shares in a footballer on the Index is a bet on their future performance. It’s a bet that isn’t defined by a simple win or lose.

Secondly, Football Index wanted to provide a way of trading in something that you know and love.

Neil Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of BetIndex Ltd, Football Index’s parent company, said: “We’re delighted to have Football Index front and centre on the new QPR home and away kits – a club steeped in history with a loyal and proud fanbase.

"We’re very excited to see this partnership help to grow awareness of the Football Index brand across an engaged football audience for the 2020/21 season.

“This partnership is yet another significant milestone in the brand’s journey which demonstrates the ambitious intentions the business has for the platform.

"We look forward to working with the team at QPR to deliver a fruitful partnership that benefits all stakeholders - from the fans to Football Index’s loyal customers.”
