QPR'S Forever R’s Golf Day returned on Wednesday after a three-year absence, with the event again raising considerable funds for our popular former players’ association.
Hosted at The Shire London for the first time, the event - sponsored by Senate Bespoke - was attended by 16 former Rangers players, as well as a number of club partners and R’s fans alike.
One of two Academia four-balls - including ex-QPR and England goalkeeper David Seaman - scooped the team prize, while Les Ferdinand – playing off a handicap of eight – was the pick of the former players, joining Mark Falco and Lee Cook in claiming the Ray Wilkins Trophy.
The longest drive prize went to 2010/11 promotion-winner Tommy Smith.
Club ambassador Andy Sinton was thrilled with how the event went - telling www.qpr.co.uk: "Forever R's, since its launch, has been a huge success, and a major reason for that is the tremendous support shown by the QPR fans for our former players.
"The annual golf day is a key event in the Forever R's calendar and is always fantastically supported by fans, sponsors and former players alike, who all come together for such a great cause.
"A big thank you to Jason Woodford of Senate Bespoke who sponsored the event, as well as all our other associated sponsors and the Shire London for their wonderful hospitality.
"From the feedback we've had, everyone had a terrific day and we're on course to achieve our biggest fundraising total for a golf day yet.
"We're already looking forward to next year's event."
