QPR supporters and former R’s players alike joined forces for the inaugural Forever R’s Golf Day at Stockley Park Golf Club on Wednesday.
The likes of Les Ferdinand, David Seaman and Ray Wilkins were all in attendance, as 19 teams took to the Robert Trent Jones Senior designed course for a memorable day, which saw over £7,000 raised for The Forever R’s Club.
Played in beautiful Spring sunshine, the winning team were JWC Builders, with Zoom Cookham finishing runners-up.
Lee Cook’s 40 points earned him the top ex-pro award, whilst former R’s attacker Tommy Smith took the longest drive prize and Mark Falco and Paul Goddard featured amongst the nearest the pin winners.
QPR supporter Jason Woodford took the individual honours with a staggering 42 points!
QPR Club Ambassador Andy Sinton, who along with the Forever R’s committee helped organise the day, told www.qpr.co.uk: “It was a tremendously successful day.
“The feedback I received on the day from both the QPR fans and the 18 ex-pros we had with us was fantastic and spoke volumes of how well the event ran from start to finish.
“The funds raised will go directly into The Forever R’s Club, as we look to build on the positive work we’ve done in year one and take it from strength to strength over the coming years.”
