DARNELL Furlong has agreed a new deal at QPR.
The 21-year-old defender has signed a contract extension until the summer of 2019.
Furlong, who has recently returned from a loan spell at Swindon Town to feature in the R’s last two Sky Bet Championship fixtures, expressed his delight at committing his future to the club and is relishing the next chapter of his QPR career.
“I’m delighted to have the contract sorted,” he told www.qpr.co.uk.
“It’s a massive boost for me personally – and a fresh chance for me.
“I’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks and it’s given me a taste of First Team football at QPR – and now I’ve signed this new deal, I can really focus on kicking on.
“I want to get as many minutes under my belt as possible and help push this club forward.
“That’s what we’re all striving for.”
On signing his new deal, Furlong reserved special thanks for boss Ian Holloway, adding: “The manager has been unbelievable with me since I’ve been back here.
“He’s really helped fill me with confidence, and for any young player that’s a massive thing.
“He’s given me a freedom to express myself and I’m really looking forward to working with him for a very long time here at QPR.”
