LES Ferdinand and Alan Shearer have picked their squads ahead of Saturday's #Game4Grenfell at Loftus Road – as the countdown to the big kick-off continues.
With just three days to go until the community fixture at Loftus Road on September 2nd, which will act as a community event to give something back to those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, Ferdinand has named Marcus Mumford as his skipper, whilst former R’s legend Trevor Sinclair will lead Team Shearer.
There’s some tasty match-ups in store, with ‘A League of Their Own’ duo Jack Whitehall and Jamie Redknapp in direct opposition, whilst legendary GB athletes Mo Farah and Darren Campbell are also set to go head-to-head.
From the world of music, Richard Ashcroft and Jarvis Cocker are Team Shearer, and they’ll face-off against Serge Pizzorno and Mumford!
Olly Murs will wear the famous blue and white Hoops on Team Ferdinand, whilst McFly’s Danny Jones will be looking to show his star-billing under the guidance of Shearer!
Tickets for #Game4Grenfell are priced £15 for adults and £5 concessions.
Monies raised from ticket sales and other fundraising initiatives around the event will be passed directly to the London Community Foundation for allocation to the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund, distributing funds to survivors and the wider community affected by the fire.
Over 2,000 complimentary tickets will be issued to those directly affected by the tragedy, including families, the emergency services, volunteers, local residents and those who played their part in the recovery efforts in North Kensington.
