International R's: 13 QPR players in action

QPR have no fewer than 13 players away on international duty this week at senior and youth levels.

Current R’s stand-in skipper Massimo Luongo faces a vital double header for Australia as they bid to qualify for the FIFA 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

The Socceroos face Syria twice, starting tomorrow, in a qualification play-off. The winner over two legs will progress to face a side from the CONCACAF region in November for a final qualification hurdle.

Meanwhile, R’s striker Conor Washington has already booked his place in the UEFA section play-offs for World Cup qualification with Northern Ireland. The Irish take on Germany tomorrow and Norway on Sunday with victories in both actually earning them automatic qualification for the finals.

Elsewhere, Pawel Wszolek’s Poland should qualify for the finals in Russia following matches against Armenia and Montenegro.

Idrissa Sylla’s Guinea and Kazena LuaLua and Yeni Ngbakoto’s Congo DR also take to the field in World Cup qualifiers whilst Michael Petrasso should feature for Canada in a friendly in Houston.

Ryan Manning, Reece Grego-Cox, Paul Smyth, Charlie Owens, Chris Paul and Niko Hamalainen are all in action at youth level.
