International R’s: Dykes and co. in action

A NUMBER of QPR players could turn out for their respective nations in international fixtures taking place over the close season.

Lyndon Dykes leads the line up of Super Hoops stars potentially involved, with Scotland due to contest a number of important matches in the coming weeks.

The Tartan Army take on Ukraine on June 1st in a play-off semi-final to reach the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar. Victory would set up a winner-takes-all qualification clash versus Wales on June 5th.

Scotland are also in Nations League action against Armenia (June 8th), Republic of Ireland (June 11th) and Armenia once more (June 14th).

Meanwhile, recently returning R’s goalkeeper Seny Dieng could represent Senegal who are in AFCON qualifying action against Benin (June 4th) and Rwanda (June 7th).

Ilias Chair’s Morocco also have upcoming AFCON qualifiers against South Africa (June 9th) and Liberia (June 13th), with both fixtures following a friendly versus the USA on June 2nd.

Continuing the AFCON theme, Ossie Kakay’s Sierra Leone face Nigeria on June 9th and Guinea Bissau on June 13th.

QPR Under-23s defender Kayden Harrack has been called up to represent Grenada in the 2022/23 CONCACAF Nations League tournament, with fixtures against El Salvador (June 4th and 7th) and USA (June 10th).

Furthermore, fellow Under-23 Sinclair Armstrong has received a first-ever call-up for the Republic of Ireland's Under-21s. Ireland are in UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying action against Bosnia & Herzegovina (June 3rd), Montenegro (June 6th) and Italy (June 14th).

And finally, Under-18s midfielder Adam Dougui is in line to represent Algeria Under-18s once more at the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Oran, taking place between June 25th July 6th.
