OSMAN Kakay came off the bench to help Sierra Leone pull off a miraculous comeback on Friday night.
The R's right-back watched from the sidelines as hosts Nigeria raced into a seemingly unassailable 4-0 lead by the half-hour mark in the sides' African Cup of Nations qualifier.
However, a goal just before half-time from Kwame Quee proved the catalyst for a sensational second-half turnaround.
Kakay's introduction in the 70th minute was followed by further goals from Alhaji Kamara and Mustapha Bundu as the Leone Stars set up an unlikely grandstand finish.
Kamara completed the comeback, equalising four minutes from time.
The sides meet again in Freetown on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, Conor Masterson captained the Republic of Ireland's U21s on Sunday but couldn't prevent them suffering late heartache.
10-man Ireland looked like rescuing a point in their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier with Iceland when Joshua Kayode's deflected effort made it 1-1, but the visitors snatched victory late on through Valdimar Ingimundarson.
Meanwhile, fellow R's defender Niko Hamalainen was an unused substitute as Finland beat Bulgaria 2-1 in the Nations League on Sunday evening.
