International R's: Wells bags match-winning double

NAHKI Wells netted a double for Bermuda on Sunday night as they beat Panama 2-0 in the CONCACAF Nations League.

The victory avenged the 4-1 defeat that Bermuda suffered against the same opposition four days earlier.

Ilias Chair’s Morocco U23 side shared a 1-1 draw with Mali U23 on Saturday. The two teams will face off again in U23 African Cup of Nations qualifying on Tuesday night.

Ebere Eze was an unused substitute for England U21s on Friday night. They beat Turkey U21s 3-2 away from home and are next in action on Monday night when they host Kosovo U21s at Hull City’s KCOM Stadium.

Wales and Matt Smith beat Azerbaijan 2-1 in European Championship qualifying on Friday night. Smith was an unused substitute and he will hope to be involved when the Dragons host Belarus on Monday.

Conor Masterson’s Republic of Ireland U21s earned a 1-0 win over Armenia on Friday night. The R’s defender played 90 minutes in the match and he will hope to do likewise when they play Sweden U21s on Tuesday.

Jan Mlakar’s and Slovenia U21s shared a 2-2 friendly draw with France U20s on Sunday evening. Out-on-loan frontman Paul Smyth was not involved for Northern Ireland as they beat Luxembourg on Thursday evening. Smyth is currently sidelined through injury. Northern Ireland play Germany on Monday night.
