JORDY de Wijs has completed a permanent transfer to Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The 27-year-old centre-back has moved to the 2. Bundesliga side for an undisclosed fee following an initial loan spell at the Merkur Spiel-Arena.

De Wijs signed for the R’s last summer following a successful loan in W12 during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign.

The Dutchman made 13 appearances last season in the blue and white hoops before moving to Flingeraner on loan in January for the remainder of the campaign.

In total, de Wijs made 22 appearances in all competitions for the R’s, scoring once – a memorable late header to seal a 3-2 win at home to Millwall.
