GOALKEEPER Seny Dieng was an unlikely scorer for Whitehawk in their 2-1 defeat at Chippenham Town this weekend. Trailing 2-0, the stopper went forward for a late corner and duly headed home from eight yards for the Hawks!
Unfortunately it proved little-more than a consolation strike with the earlier goals from Matt Smith and Dave Pratt enough to earn the hosts victory in their National League South fixture.
Ebere Eze and Jack Williams both completed 90 minutes as Wycombe beat West Ham United U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy at Adams Park last Tuesday night. Goals from Will De Havilland and Sido Jombati secured victory for Gareth Ainsworth’s side.
Eze was cup-tied for the Chairboys FA Cup clash at home to Leatherhead on Saturday, while Williams was an unused sub in the game which saw Wycombe run out 3-1 winners.
Attacking midfielder Eze has made 16 appearances during his loan spell so far, scoring five goals, while full-back Williams has turned out on four occasions to date.
Matt Ingram didn’t feature in Northampton’s Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Portsmouth on Saturday. The Cobblers went down 2-0 at Fratton Park.
Maidstone United suffered a 4-1 defeat at MK Dons in the second round of the FA Cup this weekend, a game which saw Alex Finney once again complete 90 minutes for the National League side.
Despite Magnus Okuonghae giving the visitors a half-time lead at stadium:mk, their League One opposition were too strong for them after the break.
Aidan Nesbitt, Peter Pawlett and a Kieran Agard brace saw the Dons progress into the third round.
Under 23s forward Brandon Adams didn’t feature in Linfield’s 1-0 victory over Dungannon Swifts on Saturday.
Meanwhile, there was no fixture at the weekend for Colchester United where Brandon Comley is enjoying a loan spell.
