Loan Rangers: Finney and Eze on target

ALEX Finney scored a 95th minute winner for Maidstone United in their 1-0 win against Chester on Saturday.

The QPR Under-23s defender, making his fourth start for the National League side, smashed home deep into stoppage time to hand Maidstone victory at the Gallagher Stadium.

Victory for Finney’s side sees them continue to mount a promotion push with The Stones fifth after 17 games, four points off leaders Dover.

Meanwhile, their was also goalscoring exploits for another of QPR’s out on loan youngsters, Eberechi Eze.

The Under-23s attacker scored Wycombe’s first goal in their 3-3 draw with Cheltenham Town at Adams Park on Saturday.

Eze struck in the 48th minute to make it 1-1 before having a hand in one of Adebayo Akinfenwa’s two goals as the Chairboys raced into a 3-1 lead.

However, the Robins pulled one back with 20 minutes to go before Eze appeared to be fouled in the build-up to Brian Graham’s 89th minute winner for Cheltenham as Gareth Ainsworth’s League Two side had to settle for a point.

R’s youngster Eze has made 10 appearances for Wycombe, scoring three times.

There was no place in the Wanderers matchday squad for his Under-23s teammate Jack Williams.

In League One goalkeeper Matt Ingram kept a clean sheet for Northampton Town as the Cobblers secured back-to-back victories.

Ingram completed 90 minutes as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s outfit sealed a 1-0 win against Blackpool to move within goal difference of escaping the relegation zone.

Elsewhere in League Two midfielder Brandon Comley completed another 90 minutes for Colchester United in their 3-1 win against Crewe Alexandra.

The U’s, who are now 13th in the table, came from a goal down to seal victory at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Comley made his 10th appearance of his loan spell with the Essex outfit.

In Northern Ireland, QPR Under-23s forward Brandon Adams was not in Linfield’s matchday squad for their 2-0 Irish Premier League win against Ards on Saturday.

Finally, Seny Dieng made his debut for Conference South side Whitehawk in their 1-0 defeat at Weston-super-Mare on Saturday.

The Hawks are still looking for their first victory of the season and are currently bottom after 16 matches.
