MATT Ingram made an instant impact at Northampton Town as he helped the Cobblers to their first win of the season.
Making his debut on Saturday, Ingram kept a clean sheet as new Town boss and former R’s manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink got off to a winning start against Doncaster Rovers.
It took Ingram’s new teammates fewer than 30 seconds to take the lead at Sixfields after Matt Crooks scored the winner.
Ingram made a number of crucial saves for the League One outfit late on to ensure the three points remained in Northamptonshire.
Meanwhile, highly rated QPR attacker Eberechi Eze also made his first appearance for Wycombe Wanderers as a second half substitute in their 0-0 draw at Newport County.
Eze replaced Matt Bloomfield 11 minutes from time to make an impressive first bow in League Two as the Chairboys sealed a point.
There was no place in the matchday squad for Under-23s defender Jack Williams, also on loan with Gareth Ainsworth’s side.
There was also a debut for midfielder Brandon Comley as Colchester United sealed a 3-1 win at home to Crawley Town.
Comley completed the full 90 minutes for the U’s and even had a hand in the League Two sides third goal. His cross was diverted back across goal by Frankie Kent for teammate Mikael Mandron to head home from close range seven minutes before half-time.
Finally, defender Alex Finney was an unused substitute for Maidstone in their 3-1 win against Woking in the National League whilst Under-23s striker Brandon Adams was also on the bench for Linfield’s 1-0 win against Glentoran in the Irish Premier League.
