JOE Lumley has continued to build on his growing reputation during his loan spell with Blackpool.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper joined the Tangerines in January until the end of the season and his efforts between the posts have been commended by their manager, Gary Bowyer.
Blackpool drew 0-0 at MK Dons over the weekend and were grateful to Lumley for a number of excellent saves.
The point leaves them 14th in League One and Bowyer said afterwards: “Since Joe has been with us he’s looked very assured.
“He’s not had a great deal to do in some of the games but against MK he made two or three very good saves.
“We tried to get him in the summer to be with us for the season but unfortunately we could only get him in January.
“I rate him very highly and I think he can go a long, long way in the game. I thought he proved that here.”
Saturday's clean sheet was Lumley's sixth in 12 appearances and he is clearly enjoying his time in Lancashire, telling the club's official website: "I just love playing football.
"Though I was on the bench at QPR at the start of the season and I loved learning and watching the game at a great standard, I wanted to be on the pitch and playing.
"It’s been good to keep clean sheets because that’s what I’m here to do."
Lumley joined QPR in 2010 at the age of 15.
