Mike Ferguson RIP

IT IS with deep sadness that the club has learned former player Mike Ferguson passed away on Tuesday 27th August 2019 at the age of 76.

The talented attacker joined QPR from Aston Villa in 1969 and spent four years with us. This included a period as captain during the 1971/72 campaign.

After starting his career with Plymouth, Ferguson enjoyed spells with Accrington Stanley and Blackburn before moving to Villa Park.

His first-team debut for the R’s came on 22nd November 1969 at home to Leicester City, a game which finished 1-1.

Ferguson went on to make 77 appearances, scoring three goals, before leaving for Cambridge United in 1973.

He was inducted into QPR’s ex-players’ association, the Forever R’s, last season.

The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Mike’s family and friends at this difficult time.

May he rest in peace.
