NEDUM Onuoha is continuing to show his support for men’s health by growing a Mo throughout the month of November.
The QPR captain is doing so in order to raise awareness and funds in helping tackle prostate cancer, testicular cancer and suicide globally.
The state of men’s health is in crisis. Men experience worse longer-term health than women and die on average six years earlier.
Prostate cancer rates will double in the next 15 years. Testicular cancer rates have already doubled in the last 50. Three quarters of suicides are men. Poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute.
Here are some startling stats that we should all be aware of:
- Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer
- On average 12 men each day take their own life in the UK
- Almost half (47%) of men diagnosed with testicular cancer in the UK each year are aged under 35
