QPR head home from Portugal camp

THE QPR squad headed back to London on Wednesday evening following a week of intensive training in Portugal.

Staying at the fantastic Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort in Lagos, the players got through seven days of hard work, which included numerous double sessions as boss Steve McClaren gets his troops ready for the rigours of a Championship campaign.

Ahead of their departure from the Algarve, McClaren told www.qpr.co.uk: “I am delighted with the week’s work.

"There has been a great attitude from the players and we fitted in a hell of a lot of work in seven days.

"Tactically we have got a lot in but also it has been enjoyable.”

There will be little rest for the players who will have a day’s break on Thursday before returning to Harlington on Friday to prepare for their first pre-season fixture – a behind-closed-doors friendly with Charlton on Saturday morning.

Fans will be able to watch a live stream of our fixture against the Addicks with QPR+. Full details are available here.
