QPR pair out of Sheffield Wednesday trip

IDRISSA Sylla and Yeni Ngbakoto will miss Saturday’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

The QPR pair are not in the squad for the game at Hillsborough owing to injuries.

R’s forward Sylla picked up a knock to the head in Tuesday’s 1-0 win against Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup that has ruled him out.

Meanwhile, winger Yeni Ngbakoto is sidelined with an ankle problem picked up in training following his winning goal at Loftus Road on Tuesday.

However, there is better news for striker Matt Smith who despite requiring six stitches to a face wound on Tuesday evening is available for selection.

Boss Ian Holloway has confirmed that returning loan signing Kazenga LuaLua is in the travelling squad to Yorkshire following his move to W12 from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

However, the R’s boss has opted against taking defender Steven Caulker with him as the 25-year-old continues to regain his match fitness following his 90 minutes against the Cobblers midweek.

Defender Grant Hall remains out with a knee problem.
