QPR players agree 25% wage deferral

QPR’S players have agreed to a 25% wage deferral for a period of three months to assist the club through the current economic challenges posed by COVID-19.

QPR CEO Lee Hoos told www.qpr.co.uk: “I would like to publicly thank the players for the way they have worked with us for the best interests of the club.

“It would have been all too easy for them to focus on their own personal circumstances but, in doing so, pose a significant risk to the future of the club.

“They haven’t done that. Through regular dialogue they have sought answers so they fully understand the situation, and the implications of the decisions they make.

“Their collective agreement to take a 25% wage deferral enables us to deal with the short-term challenges.

“There will be more discussions to be had around the medium and long-term, and once again the players are aware of this and open to further conversations as required.”

QPR captain Grant Hall added: “The club have been in regular contact with us, keeping us informed of what challenges they are facing.

“They have been very open with the squad and that has helped us to understand what is needed, and why our support is absolutely critical.”

I would like to publicly thank the players for the way they have worked with us.
