QPR to mark Glenn Roeder passing

QPR will be holding a minute’s applause at Wednesday night’s Championship fixture versus Barnsley to mark the death of former captain Glenn Roeder, aged just 65.

Glenn led us out at Wembley for the original 1982 FA Cup final versus Tottenham Hotspur. He has sadly passed away after battling illness.

An elegant defender, Roeder made 181 appearances in the blue and white hoops of QPR – scoring 18 goals.

Ahead of Wednesday’s game, R’s boss Mark Warburton told us: “It is very sad.

“Glenn was held in such high regard by so many in the game – especially at QPR for his achievements here.

“I know he was battling illness for a long, long time. He’ll be missed by so many.”
