QPR to wear commemorative strip against Baggies

THIS weekend we are celebrating our origins and marking 140 years since the first foundations of the club were laid.

At our match with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 15th January 2022, the players will be wearing a limited-edition anniversary shirt, designed as an homage to the colours that were worn back in 1882 by Christchurch Rangers – four years before joining forces with St. Jude’s Institute to form Queens Park Rangers.

Created by our partners Errea, the shirt combines vintage elements with some more contemporary features, as well as a few extra details.

Sporting an elegant mandarin collar with small buttons, as the original shirts would have included, the shirt is divided into light-and-dark-blue halves to replicate the first shirt in our history.

Offering a perfect fit and maximum freedom of movement, the kit is made from soft and comfortable skin technical fabric which, thanks to its double-knit structure, ensures ventilation and optimum body temperature regulation, and creates a 'second-skin' effect.

The outline of an old street map has been incorporated into the shirt as a watermark, showcasing the Queen’s Park area where our roots began, with the location of St. Jude’s Church located closely to the crest.

Designed by lifelong QPR fans Daniel Norris and Daniel Bowyer, the crest itself is another commemorative feature with the addition of a banderole or scroll underneath the badge marking the 140 years.

For any fans who are keen to get their hands on one of the shirts as a keepsake, a limited number of adult shirts will be available to purchase from our online Superstore. Priced at £59.95, they will go on sale online from 10am on Monday HERE.

Due to the number, these are limited to one per person and printing is unavailable.

In addition, the shirts worn by our players in Saturday’s fixture will be signed and auctioned to help raise funds for our charity partner Prostate Cancer UK. More details about the auction will be released in due course.
